Are plastic water bottles safe?

Lots of people use plastic water bottles without knowing the safety of it. It has been discussed many times in the media to drop the plastic water bottles but there are also manufacturer who has invented the eco friendly water bottles that does not contain BPA from plastics. These are safe to use and throw into the recycled trash can.

Disposable plastic water bottles mostly contain BPA from plastic that can leach out into the water you are drinking. Bisphenol A also known as BPA is an organic compound found in many plastics that can harm your health, some believe this compound causes obesity, thyroid function, cancer and many more.

There are few things you can do to avoid BPA on your drinking water if you should decide to buy a plastic water bottle. Read the label most manufacturers include information about BPA on their bottles. Choose one with BPA free drinking water, or you can keep the plastic water bottles away from heat preventing the BPA to leach chemicals into your drinking water.

If you want to reuse your plastic water bottle always make sure to wash it thoroughly, with soap and rinse it with water to eliminate bacteria. Let it dry before refilling it. The same thing for reusable water containers, the difference is that plastic is mainly dangerous for the environment. It is a good idea to use reusable water bottle whenever possible.

Although it more convenient to just buy another water bottle in the store than refilling your own, plastic water bottles certainly have their use but if you are very eco friendly you would know that plastic is hard to recycle and when burned or stored incorrectly it can harm the environment or the one using the bottle. The advice is keep your bottle away from heat and use it only up to 3 times.

To ensure yourself and your family or friends that you are drinking pure water is through a home purification system and then you can store it in your own water container. This way you are more secure and enjoy convenience of purified and bottled water.
